An Early Start from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick was up at 6 am. I followed around 6:25 am. lol We were ready and out the door by 7 am to get to Patrick's oncology appointment in Olympia. While he was there, I was getting my blood tests done. Then I walked around the facility. It was pouring rain today, so we were limited to where I could walk. I walked inside the building.

We were heading home and stopped to get my Chai tea and Patrick's coffee. Then it was to get gas.

Surprisingly, we were home by 10:30 am. We ...

Getting Back To My Sewing Room from Quilting My Way

This morning, I decided to get back to working on my quilting stuff.  First I needed to clear off my table top to make room for cutting. I turned the fire on downstairs, because it was cold. Weird when it was 70 degrees today. I put my embroidery floss away. Took my kit and put everything away, since the project was done. Stacked all the quilt blocks up.

I was shocked at how much I have! I need to get these into quilts. Every time mom brought me blocks, I put them on the table. I ask quilters if they ...

Movie Day from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick slept in. I was playing my games.

Decided I wanted to play on my puzzle today and got some done before it was time to leave.

We decided to go to the movies. I wanted to see the new Panda movie. It was at 1:30 pm. At first I thought we would be the only ones watching it but a family of 5 showed up as well. It was really good. The graphics were better than that one previously. I enjoyed the movie and knew the voices of at least 4 of them.

Then we walked ...

Woke In Pain from Quilting My Way

This morning, I woke in pain. Actually, had pain all night. So, I pretty much didn't do much all day.

I think the pain is from moving around. It's pulling on the seams. It's something I need to do and will continue, so that it's not tight all the time. It takes a lot of getting used to. Pain is pain and I have learned to deal with it.

I did get my walking in. AND I did work on my puzzle a little bit today.

I did find one of the border pieces that's ...

Worn Out from Quilting My Way

Today I slept a little longer after Patrick went golfing. I was wide awake when he went for his shower, but I made myself go back to bed.

When I did get up, I was hurting a little. I was also in the mood of just not interested in much. I was more worn out than anything. And I slept pretty good.

Connie came over to get some backing material.

She needed some beige fabric for the backing of a couple quilts. She cut one of each of these. I couldn't help her. She brought her own marker and ...

A Day At A Time from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick woke me early. So, I was up and ready to go. I enjoyed an hour before taking my shower.

Then I played some games. I felt good, till I took my meds and then my bp came down. That's not fun. We did get our walk in before having to leave to the playhouse. I wasn't feeling up to it most of the day. We went to see the play "Noise, Off" and it was really good. Patrick paid for mom, Nancy, brother Patrick, Christine, and us. It was really good and I laughed through ...

Presentation Day Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up with Patrick. I had to get ready for mom to pick me up to head on over to the museum.

I cut myself an apple, put some almond butter in a container, and put nuts in a jar. Once that was done, I was ready for mom. Patrick had the quilts and stuff waiting downstairs for them to pick up.

Mom and Nancy were a little later than they said they would be. Mom and Nancy put the stuff in the back of the car. Then we were off. HOLLY CRAP!! My mother almost had ...

It's Only Been 4 Weeks. from Quilting My Way

This morning I woke in pain. My chest was mad at me. I was able to get it calmed down. It still feels like fabric rubbing up against a sore.

Patrick did a lot of cleaning today. I hate just watching or waiting. I did unload what I could of the dishwasher, but I really need to watch it, because I have 2 more weeks to go. I know it's hard on Patrick, but he's a sweetheart when it comes to taking care of me. I told him he needs to go golfing again.

He does make sure ...

TRYING Not Go Do Too Much from Quilting My Way

I slept in today. Yesterday I was in so much pain, I had to call it a night early. Once I slept the better, I felt. It's not the heart itself, but all the surgery seams. I'm still walking and trying to behave but that doesn't say much.

Mom called this morning to say she wanted to come over. Nancy and she came over for about a half hour. It's good to see them. I keep enjoying having company once in a while. I feel like I'm in a cage that can't see anyone ...

On the POSITIVE side from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I am ANNOYED!!! And I'm annoyed at myself!

I'm trying to get organized for the events over the next couple of weeks. The first one is tonight. So I'm organizing the samples, and I'm missing ONE. Actually, I'm missing a couple of samples. Now, thankfully, both of them are small and would take very little time to redo. It's the principle of the matter. I had one in my hand last week, and I swear I left it on the table.

I've been searching for it, and nothing!! Thankfully, I had it in ...

And now for selling the car from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- how hard can it be to sell a car? There are several platforms, such as Kijiji and Autotrader. To sell a car, you need some paperwork from the Provincial Government, which I got. Then, I took pictures of my car and listed it on Kijiji. I should have researched the price more, as I listed it a bit higher than I should have, but no worries -- I can negotiate.

It was suggested on the Kijiji website that I get a VIN report indicating that the car had not been in any accidents, etc. I chose not to get it ...

Virtual challenges and walking goals from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Why is there always so much to do before leaving? At least this time, things are a bit calmer - I just have to pack myself and a few clothes, and then I'm out the door - no samples to pack or sewing to finish. But still, there are e-mails to send, and it always seems like there is a ton of stuff. But what doesn't get done will get done when I get back. I'll be back before the Virtual Retreat, which is next Saturday and Sunday. YES -- I get it's a busy time of year, but ...

Decluttering from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's "comforting" to know I'm not the only one hiding junk in boxes and bags! Good luck to everyone who is sorting and decluttering. It's TIME to open those boxes and bags and deal with them!

I will put that statement here again: The things you value are only valuable while you are alive. When you are gone, no one will give the same value to the items. So - if the item is valuable to you while you are alive, you should be USING it!

If the item is no longer of value to you, perhaps someone ...

Class Day....What Fun! from Quilting My Way

Today I was doing the usual in the morning. Around 11 am Ron was out walking. I ran out to meet up with him. He thought I was not going to walk today. Told him that was tomorrow. So, we walked. Then came in the house and got ready for my Brazilian embroidery class with Loretta Holtzburger.

First things first. We had to put a stem stitch on so that we could work with the flower. This is done with colonial knots. I was able to get that much done. I have about 1/4 of it done. I also ...

Another Day At Home from Quilting My Way

This week is working out for me....or not. I decided to enjoy the day. Patrick went golfing and I slept in a little. After I got up, did the usual. Then at 11 am I headed out the door to meet with Ron. We walked the loops. It takes us about an hour to do the walking. I can do it in about 35 mins when it's just me. I'm okay with that. My hip doesn't like it sometimes, but he feels better after.

I received my monthly beads today. I will have to work on ...

It's A Tuesday.....I'm Getting Back To Normal from Quilting My Way

This morning we slept in. Then I got my exercise in and Ron called. He said it was going to rain around noon and wanted to go early before that. We decided on 10 am instead of 11 am. I was okay with that. We met up with Judy and chatted on the way back this direction. She only loops once.

Afterwards I came back in and did my 5 mins on my stomach.

Of course Sophie wanted her attention. This is the first time she climbed up on my back. She usually give me crap while I'm doing ...

Starting A New Week from Quilting My Way

This week is going to be a little quieter than usual. I started out with my exercises and then headed to the Grange to meet for Brazilian embroidery. I took 3 boxes full of stuff for the garage sale they have at the grange this weekend. We went through some of it and pre-priced them. We need some stickers to mark them with.

I really wasn't in the mood to do any embroidery. We did have a new person show up and Sandy V came from Ocean Shores. Sandy worked with the new gal. While Cindy and I went ...

A Nothing Day! from Quilting My Way

Today is Sunday. A day that I didn't feel like doing anything. Not that I didn't want to do anything but a day where I couldn't make up my mind! I wanted to bead, then I wanted to do cross stitch and then I wanted to work on a puzzle. I knew I should go downstairs and work on a quilt top, but just wasn't there.

So my day started out with cleaning up. Got the litter box done and then I worked on the kitchen. Once all that was done then I got laundry going ...

Interesting Day At Our Meeting from Quilting My Way

This morning as I was leaving for our Brazilian embroidery meeting, I received a text that the grange took over our tables. I told her I was on the way. I wanted to find out why I wasn't told they would be there. Alice was awesome, told me to take our table and tell everyone to leave us be. There was only Cindy and I today, so it wasn't all that big a deal. They were getting ready for a garage sale this weekend. We watched and chatted with a few of the helpers. Around noon, Cindy decided ...

Framing and Playing! from Quilting My Way

This morning I slept in and loved it. Patrick slept a little longer than me. lol

I played games. Once I did my exercises I took a walk around the golf course housing area. I said I would and it did. Then I worked on my jigsaw puzzle.

Took a break and worked on framing my work.

I like the mat we ordered. Patrick has a good eye for the colors. I really do like the way this came out. So, I was stitching the picture to the back. Then we were able to get it framed. To my surprise ...
